Will claybar work on "orange-peel"?

Wet sanding will leave very light scratching in the paint, so it must be followed with a series of progressively milding rubbing/polishing compounds, until you're left with a swirl free finish (which is why he recommended having a pro do it).
Here's the thing though...you need to be very careful when leveling clearcoat. All factory paint has some degree of orange peel in it, so you don't want to get the clearcoat *perfectly* level. You just want to sand it down so it matching the factory clearcoat on the surrounding panels.

Painting outside of the factory will usually yield more orange peel, and a good body shop will wet sand the clearcoat, until the repainted area matches the orange peel from the factory.
