I finished Step 1 of the Zoops Sealer experiment a few weeks ago. That was an intense cleaning of the uncoated part of my wheels.
Since they had been refinished over the winter, they really only needed to be cleaned to remove any traces of the polish used by the refinisher.
Step 2, well actually Step 2a, was to mix the two parts of the Zoop Sealer, aggitating ever twenty minutes or so. The kit provides enough for a bunch of 18" wheels. I only mixed half the contents, since I had no frame of reference as to how much I would use. Turns out, I used next to nothing...remember, I am treating only the inner and outer lips..the centers are powder coated.
Zoops claims the mixed sealer will last 4 to 6 weeks if you keep it in the refrigirator. If this stuff works, some of you Long Island folks should come by and use the rest of whay I have mixed!
After applying the sealer, Step 2b, it is virtually invisible, although as the instructions suggested there is a faint rainbow effect that, once dry, will be polished off in Step 3.
After the Zoops Sealer application...

I tried scrubbing the barrels as much as I could even using a slight abrasive but I couldnb't get it to be that bright silver it was when I first got them so I think I'll just seal them like that.

Can't say I would have tried to get the perfect on mine if the shop hadn't done it... That's a lot of work...
Hopefully mine will stay clean...we'll see.
