I have a 2007 B7 s4 and I am looking to upgrade my brakes. I want to go with a 14" set-up and I am wondering what will be the better performer between the two.
Also, just a side note, which kit weighs less? I am always cuious about these things.
Please help!

Brembo kits are known for great performance, pedal modulation, high quality and durability. The high performance GT product benefits from all the dyno testing and certification done on the OE side with partners like Ferrari and Porsche and also from the racing side through their development with top level racing, such as Formula 1.

The 4 piston has been a great caliper in the Brembo lineup with its roots going back to the Ferrari F50. Customers love that caliper and because there are so many in use, pads are easy to find and are available in any compound you may need.
Eventually that caliper will probably be replaced by the six piston monobloc. Brembo did a great job on the design - if it wasn't just a brake caliper it could be a work of art. All the pistons are carved away to eliminate weight and it has a built in bridge for additional stiffness. It's the closest thing we've had yet in the GT program to a full motorsports caliper. Pad selection is still limited, but since it is a Brembo caliper, we expect to have most pad manufacturers bringing out pads soon. Currently we have race and street pads available from Ferodo, Porterfield and PFC.
Even if performance were equal I'd go with the six piston. It has the newest technology, an amazing look...and the price difference is only $200 retail.

Both Alcon and Brembo offer a range of 4-pot calipers. I running the monobloc Alcon TA6 on my S8, the 6-pot version of the TA4 shown below. A partial list of Alcon and Brembo calipers are available from Hoerr Racing.
BTW: I'd guess that the weight differences between Alcon and Brembo calipers is insignificant (no idea which is lighter). However, you will get huge weight savings from a 2-part rotor with it's aluminum hat.

It appears as if they both offer the same braking capabilities, so now I want to know which one wighs less in a 4 piston caliper and 355mm rotor.

Are we talking "unsprung" weight comparisons here?
