Default Not rotor temps, but a caliper temp :-)

I thought you might get a kick out of this pic. That's the "C" strip on my Alcon TA-6, and you can see I'm running about 280 oF at Grattan (though that track isn't particularly hard on brakes).

Default Answers...

No PFC pads are available for our rears as far as I know. I use the Porterfield R4S pads, I have STaSIS rear setup and 332 fronts to help with bias.

PFC pads are good, 01 needs high temps and has high CoF. I like 97 more, seems to work better when colder. (I am talking about track temps, not winter driving.)

03... was not available for StopTechs, so I never tried them. But I recommend starting with 97, they can take it to 2,000F.

Default Got these too. So paint for rotors, and strip on teh caliper.

Starting with DS2500, with 3000 sitting on the side just in case. Even though the car is so fast that I can easilly run in Advanced groups, I think my skills belong in Intermediate. Which means that I do take it easy on teh brakes, often braking early in the zone.

But as I said, 3000s will be there in case I need them.

I may look for a different pad for the rear that the R4S or DS2500, something with a CoF higher than 50.

But I just blew up something on my car, so it may be few days before I can experiment with brake pads.

Default I'm also running the Stasis S4 rear ... on my S8.

And for the same reason, to avoid upsetting brake bias with my front 355mm Alcon setup. BTW: How do you like the Ferodo DS2500 for a street pad?

What caliper temps do you run?

Default So far the DS2500, well Brembo FM1000 (which I hear is the same) is doing VERY well.

Brakes are very easy to modulate, good pedal feel, as good as we gonna get without replacing the rears.

But I do want to try them at the track. The supposed to do as well as Pagid Blues... which is not bad for a street pad.

Default I had some trouble with the DS3000 this season...they warped two sets of identical slotted Brembos.

The DS3000s killed two sets of stock sized Brembo slotted rotors this summer. Granted my stock front brakes are too small for my heavy car, but I didn't have any warping issues last year with Porterfield R4 pads up front, with the same rotors. I even added cooling hoses pointed at the front hubs this year, but the DS3000 appears to have produced more heat than my rotors could stand.

So I've got a set of the Raybestos ST43 pads to try in my StopTechs when the kit arrives in a week or two. These were recommended over on the Motorsports forum.

BTW Bob, I get all my pads from RaceShopper.com too.
