break lights not working and car does not come out of park when you put break on
my audi 5000 the break light won't work and when i put my foot on break it won't shift out of park . any one else have this problems

Sounds like a dead brakelight switch. Pull the switch and do a continuity test.
I had this fail on my 90q... quick solution (while I waited the week for the dealership to get the part in) was to wire up a switch that sat in my lap... whenever I was on the brakes I pushed on the switch to trigger the lights. Of course, I didn't have to deal with the automatic transmission lockout... but my hands were busier cause of the shifter.
