How hard is it to remove the brake calipers? Instructions?

My brother-in-law has offered to powdercoat my calipers, but the dealer wants $450 for a full brake job to remove them. Can I do it myself? What tools are needed? TIA.

not messing up the calipers during the process. Would you strip them bare, or leave the pistons and dust boots in place?
Also, not sure if bead-blasting will be needed to clean them enough for poweder-caoting, that's another level of complexity.
Might be better to just paint them on the car, I know there are write-ups from people who have done this. Seems to hold up half-decent.

They're typically bolted to a caliper carrier bracket from the inside with a pair of large bolts.
