Pinging / Crunching sound when apply brakes

Pinging / Crunching sound when apply brakes
Hi everybody
Particularly I qm hearing this "crunching" sound when I am applying the brakes after I start the engine.
The sound is there all the time under any braking situation even under light application of the brakes.
There is no sound when the car is cold.
I am not sure how to describe it but it sound also as a pinging metal noise.
I can hear when apply the brakes light.
Any Suggestions?
