Default Prepping for 1st ACNA event: Ferodo, DBA on stock S4 (HP2) calipers?

After some research, a few Excel workbooks, and a couple of botched Brake Bias calculations, I've decided I need some help coming to a final decision.

Scenario: there's an upcoming ACNA event at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham. This would be my first driver's event.

Car: My 2001 S4 is 100% stock, but at 40k on the brakes, I sincerely doubt my OEM pads will last on this track.

Questions: So, I need new brakes. I've been told to look into the Ferodo 2500s, which will fit my needs as 99.5% daily driver (figure 2 track days per year). Are they overkill for my purposes? Are there good alternatives (PBR Ceramics, Pagid Black/Orange, etc.) that will fit the HP2 calipers? And what about the rears?

Also, should I go ahead and pick up some additional OEM-sized rotors (DBA, Zimmerman, ECS)?

Brake Bias Calculator

Default for 2 track events or less, go with the Ferodo DS2500 front and rear, and...

...get a spare set of front rotors in case you warp them on track.

I think pure motorsports has S4 rotors for like $70. Skip anything cross drilled, but slotted OEM discs are ok as well.

The rears will do fine on track.

Change the fluid out, at 40k you're due anyways. Run Motul 5.1 or RBF600. make sure there are nice and bled (i'd say get 2 500ml bottles and use everything).

Bed in the pads good before you really use them.

You'll likely experience some fade, and possibly warp the fronts, but given your infrequence to the track, cheaper to just go with replacing the front rotors as you see fit.

bring your old stock pads with you to teh event in case you burn through the Ferodo DS2500's. Always have a spare set of front pads at any driving event.

Ferodo is a good call. Pagid aren't bad either. A lot of guys also run Hawk stuff on the stock caliper I think, but I've never run them.

Since it's your first event, you'll likely not abuse the brakes too much.

Default Thanks much. Now the trick is to actually find Ferodos for the HP2. :)

I'll probably call Essex.

You're correct. Looks like I'm going with Hawk HPS then.

More importantly, replace your fluid with like Motul Dot 5.1 or ATE Super Blue.
