My ABS light comes on along with the flashing Brake light every other day. I spent some time searching the forum (I'm still new to this) and I think I narrowed it down:
- Replace ABS module
- Replace brake light switch
I was leaning toward the ABS module until I went the car wash the other day. The ABS light came on with the Brake light, accompanied by the three warning beeps. I pushed the brake pedal to put the car in drive, from neutral, then a minute later pushed the brake pedal to put it back in neutral. I felt a little click when I pushed the brake pedal and the lights went off. So now I'm inclined to think it's the brake light switch??...
I called Autozone as I wanted to see what codes I would get from a VAGCOM and was told that the Check Engine Light must be on for them to diagnose/run codes. Is this correct? (I'm still new to this.)
