Default Assume you're using the built in flash? It's good for a couple or so metres at best

Beyond that, it doesn't have the power to expose subjects properly from that distance. Look for a 430EX or used 580EX flash, external flash will help a lot.

Oh, I'm talking about shots without flash. Which is why the long shutter speed is used.

Default Ah yes without a flash you can only go so far

Same rule applies for recommended shutter speed based on the focal length. INcrease the ISO as you have done, even go faster if you can, and shoot wide open.

Default You just don't have enough light... (large pics inside)

Maybe it's time to go out and buy some F/1.4 lenses! If I have to shoot in limited light without flash (I've got a D50), I always set the camera to continuous shooting mode, take a deep breath and hold the shutter release for a good few shots and pick the best. I think best I managed was a 1/3s exposure without it being too blurry. Here're a couple I took using the standard 18-55mm kit lens at 18mm while I went to Drumheller this past summer, in very dim light. I must've fired off 10-15 frames for these pics.

F/3.5, 1/6s, ISO400

F/3.5, 1/3s, ISO200

Another option would be for you to by some VR lenses, which would also help with motion blur when taking long exposure shots.

They are the BEST. They have never lost a ticket of mine. All my front plate tickets were killed too

Default Are you serious? They've always answered my calls, and have been super communicative with me.

There have been letters in the mail from them, phone reminders by the admin, and then a phone call from the paralegal that was trying my case a few days before the court date.

Is this the one with the 3 chicks in the car? Did you bring them to the trial?
