Anyone from Canada ordered from TireRack lately?
I didn't get a response on the Tire Forum, so I thought I would cross-post here<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/wheel/msgs/82291.phtml">X-Post Link</a></li></ul>

I haven't, but a friend at work did recently...
and he was giving me a hard time for wasting my money locally. He bought a winter package for his new AWD 5-series, and got a phenomenal deal. I forget how much he saved, but even with taxes, duties, etc, there is no where here that can come close.

Sounds good to me
Now that I'm thinking.. it's not such a bad idea.
I'm getting 4 Pirellis 210s for $180 each, without steel wheels.
Tirerack are offering the Dunlop M3 with steelied for $612 US.

I've ordered a set of wheels and tires from them before..
This is what I know...
Yes there will be extra charges. Since Tirerack ship only by UPS, you will get dinged on their brokage fee, and GST for that fee. On my set I paid something like ~$120 extra because of that.
Of course the normal GST/PST applies depends where you are in Canada.
The other thing is not only are your supporting local businesses by buying local, you usually get free puncture repairs, new valves if needed, free re-balancing and stuff like that. Try getting that with an on-line company. That's is why for tires I'd prefer to buy locally if possible, unless the price difference is super huge. HTH.

The math
Lets assume you are talking about 205/65HR15 Dunlop M3 with steel wheels and a set of wheel covers for $629 at TR. Mounting and balancing is free. Assume they are shipped to Toronto UPS Standard, that costs $138. Now add UPS broker fees $50 and duty $50
Total so far is $US 867. Exchange rate of 1.19 on a credit card is C$1031.73 plus GST/PST, total $1186.
Is that still a good deal?
Pirelli 210 = 4 X 180 = 720
Steelies at Costco 4 * 69 = 276
Installation and balance = $80
Total = C$1076
plus tax = C$1237
You save $51.
Of course the UPS broker and duty charges might be higher than $100US, Or you could drive to South Bend Indiana and pick them up at Tire Rack.

Do those steel wheels fit the B7 A4 2.0? Include wheel covers?
Dexter's could not find a steel wheel for the B7 package (they were surprised to find out that the package they sold for the B6 did not fit the B7). They are sourcing aluminum wheels, 205/55R16 Pirelli Sottozero or SnowSport 210 for $1600 installed and balanced.
Do you ship?

Now you're making me doubt...
my parts department. I'll check tomorrow and let you know. I'm pretty sure that they do fit because I sold a set to a client of mine that bought a B7 Avant and he is picking it up tomorrow.
