Anyone ever use a traffic ticket lawyer to get out of a speeding ticket????

my friend has
he got a speeding ticket for going 99km/h on a 60km/h road. he was supposed to be charged $500(i think) and 3 points.
then he went to some ticket guy and now he only gets 1 point off his license but he still had to pay the fine.
but my other friends said it is better to go to court and then beg the judge to not deduct points off ur license. i would personally do this too because insurance is way more important than anything.

I did once...
After they got me doing 64 in a 40. That was supposed to be 2 points and some $100 fine. I went to a lawyer and I got out with 0 points and $50 fine. I guess it depends on the speed you had and also if you were or not in a community/school zone.
Like naruto16 said points are important!

I used Pointts, in ON
Got a ticket for 129 in an 80 zone on my bike, after they knocked it down from the 150 they claimed I was doing (if only they knew!). Ticket was $400 plus 4 points. A cop friend said to definitely fight it as 4 ponts is a "major" as opposed to a regular "minor" 3-point ticket.
Pointts cost me $300 and they knocked got it knocked down to 99 in an 80 zone, or something. It still cost me $400 but the effect on my record was worth it.
