B7 A4 versus 2005 M3
A friend of mine just picked up his BMW last week. We drove out of the city and decided to have a little race to see how the A4 compares.
Here are my specs:
2006 with 2.0L T
APR 93
Test Pipe
I was very pleased with the results. I thought the M3 would destroy me but the little 2.0 held its own. In fact out of the 3 pulls I took the M3 off the line by a car length every time. I was able to keep ahead by a nose until shifting into 2nd. From 2nd to 3rd the M3 was up by a car and we stopped there as we were moving pretty good for a back road. I believe the M3 would increase its lead significantly from 3rd into 4th but a pretty good competition nontheless.
One thing I noticed was the M3 could shift much later. I had to shift from 2nd into 3rd around 100Km while the M3 could still pull in 2nd...
No doubt that in a 1/4 mile race the M3 would be a killer vs an A4 like mine but in real world conditions the A4 impressed me against the M3.
Just thought I would share.
