Button doesn't exist in Cdn-spec cars, but should be there for US-spec cars.

Default Thanks all for your responses. I think I'm going to hit it despite the $

Could save more by waiting until the Cdn dollar returns (assuming it will someday)...but really like this particular car.

And price is comparable at least to buying in Canada, if not a smidge better - just way more choices. There are 39 2006-2008 S4's for sale on Cdn Auto Trader and 101 in the US.

And if I want to avoid a salty Ontario/NY kind of car, the gap is even higher. ;-)

Default I don't think you're considering all the factors though...

The obvious costs are taxes/duties, currency exchange, etc. The one that nobody can estimate though, is depreciation upon sale. You will definitely take a hit when you sell it and even a bigger hit if you decide to trade it in. And if you buy from a dealer, you get the CPO here (which will not transfer from the US) and good financing. So if the diff is $5k or so, I'd say definitely not worth it.

Just points to consider.

Default Well, my sacrifie for the wife was to get a tip...and those are fairly rare

Only 10 listed in Canada right now.

I realize depreciation/resale could be a factor, but not planning to sell for 5 yrs prob.

Financing is a factor too, but currently not much of a diff - if they had a car - 1.9% vs. the 4.25% on my LOC.
