Default Dear Canada Post... your tracking system is useless.

What is the purpose of a tracking system that only says:

(day of order) Item submitted electronically - Richmond BC
(day of order) Item received - Vancouver BC
(1 week later) Item out for delivery - Sudbury Ontario

Yes... you are delivering on the date expected... which is great. But what's the purpose of a tracking system that tells me exactly what the company I ordered from could tell me ("Uhh, we shipped it today, you should get it in a week."). Obviously this thing went across the country, got sorted in various places, etc... why not feed that info into the tracking system?

As far as I'm concerned... the item sat in Vancouver until last night... when it magically appeared in Sudbury... where they immediately went out to deliver it.

Or does detailed tracking only apply to items shipped 2/3 day shipping?

Perhaps it's cause you're Canada Post. (Not that I'd expect much more from UPS/Fedex)

Default Welcome to the future. I know what you mean it sucks. However FedEx ground and UPS ground are...

Only slightly better.

Default

True... They tend to give updates by major sorting locations.

Default They're not the only Canadian web presence that's seriously lacking....

Check out the websites for Home Despot, Wallymart, etc. The Canadian sites look like they were set up by eight year olds in comparison to the American sites.
The worst we recently experienced was Air Canada's flight tracking system. My family was in Barbados and checked the AC flight tracker which said (at noon) that our flight had left on-time. They drove to the airport (~45 minutes) to find out that, in fact, we were delayed in Toronto and wouldn't arrive until after 5 (instead of around 1pm). Checked the AC web site that night - apparently our flight departed and arrived on-time.
Cheers!
