Saturday night, I'm driving up highway 25 towards 440 in left lane, trafic is light. All of the sudden I spot something that looks like a box in front of me in the middle of the lane, no time to swerve or stop. It's a damn ladder! I end up hitting it dead on. Lucky for me it was dead straight and feet first, it still got stuck unde the car and tore the plastic apron to $hit.
By the time I manage to cut across the right lane, I see the owner of the ladder backing up on the sholder, I'm still dragging the ladder under the car. I try to reverse but it is now stuck at the end of the plastic apron and won't ome off. I decided to drive off the pavement where there was a small drop and that was enough to drop the ladder low enough and back up.
Apart from having had a big scare, making a ton of sparks and wrecking my plastic apron, everything looks to be fine.
The guy was telling me that he had tied it down but he did not have a good rope and that's why it fell off... I took all his info, the guy knew his driver's licence by heart (probably a truck driver).
I hate ladders on the road!
