It's been raining like crazy lately. And finally I'm getting some electrical problems with my Audi.
I left the car and no signs of problems. Once I finish my shift at work I see the corner lights flashing rapidly like when you leave the lights on and the battery is almost drained. When I opened the door I hear this noise coming from the fuse compartment. When I turn my key on, the sound goes off and the battery was ok.
On my way home no problems, except the climate control was stuck, could not get more air or less.
Once I parked the car.. turn the key of, turn the lights of.. the sound comes back again.. and I checked the corner lights and they were on. Funy thing is
- When I turn the lights on, the sound goes away
- climate control background is on when the keys out and lights off
I checked the fuses, and deeper in, there seems to be some relays, 209 (899643-sho) and 214( just at the right from 209).... sound is coming from both of them.. I touched them and they were vibrating. I'll get the exact numbers soon.
I tried to take the relays off.. but the sound will continue and the climate control was on.. even w/o keys. So far I also unplugged the climate control.. I checked the relay.. and it's the daylight relay.. one of them.. the other I don't know. I'll replace the relay but one thing doesn't make sense. Why does the climate control goes crazy if the relay is only for daylights only
Any info will be appreciated!
Thanks

Sound to me like there is a moisture in wires or bad headlight switch.. Relay 209 and Relay 214 are the headlight and corner light DRL features.. could be your relays , could be the headlight switch..
Relays tend to go bad, you can try to replace them or disable DRL all together, and see if the problem persist. If you decided to disable your DRL check out my website. you be able to use your headlights, by just switching the headlight switch.. if the problem persist and you still get problems, then I would check wiring for any moisture build up, there is wiring panel near the foot step on the driver side, the wiring panel is covered and can be removed, and checked..

And the problem seems to be gone.. whoever I have no lights.. so I had to drive with my high beams.
I checked you website.. very helpful.. I'd like to know how to jum the 209 relay to bypass my DTR.
So this sounds like relay needs replacement right?

Just get 2 inch wire and crimp spades(male couplers) to each end, look at the back of the relay for letter A & B and just plug in the spades(male couplers) there, and you done,
it sounds like 209 was bad, check with dealer how much new one is, or if you prefer no more DRL just make connection between those two contacts..
