Default Guess what I install this wkend...

I just install the McCulloch HID 6000k kit on my 98.5 A4. I had no problems with the install and there's no display that I have a burnt bulb.

On the other hand I'm trying to disable the DRL. Does anyone know to do this? I tried removing the 209 relay and putting a jumper on terminal A to B. It sort of works but...

When I have the lights on normal setting, the parking lights and the HID goes on. When I click one notch up, all the lights stays on and dash lights comes on as well. Then to the next notch up, the parking lights and dash lights stays on but the HID are off, in this notch I'm able to light up my high beams.

That's not what I really wanted...I wanted the HID to be disable when I have it in normal setting (when the car is started)...

Default Was it hard to do?

How long did it take and what tools are needed?

Default It was very simple...

The tools that you really need are the ones to remove the actual headlights and the panel where the relay is.

Ratchet set.
Torque keys.
Screw driver.

Tie wraps, electric tape and hot chocolate (thanks Sanjay) was included with the kit. I didn't even have the manual with me...I took my time cause I didn't want to F-up. Looking back at it, it's really simple. No cutting into the orginal wires. Everything you need is included in the kit.

Default So you use everything that comes with the kit?

I heard from some people that you need to use some of the original wiring from the car in order to avoid the "light out" warning.

Default Yep, I used everything that was in the kit. I just plug into the H7 bulb oem wires.

I didn't get the burnt light error.
The only thing that I had to make was the jumper to disable the DRL. I also forgot to mention that you would need to drill a 1" hole for the rubber grummet where the wire passes through.

Default Thanks for the information and the pictures!!!

I haven't had time to pick up my kit from Sanjay yet, but I'll be doing the same install. So you plug in the kit to the OEM wiring harness? Then you insert that thick black wire with the bulb right into housing where the original H7 used to be?
