Default what does unlocking mean?

my provider in the US, Verizon, has locked some of the Blue Tooth features on all Motorola V710 phones...a damm shame. Such a nice phone too. They want people to download more extra programs which the BT can easily do by itself.

However, the reception is great on the phone.

Unlocking means removing the SIM lock on GSM phones so that you can switch providers without having to buy a new phone, or use your phone overseas and buy a simcard overseas.

Bell is CDMA, and I believe they only let you use phones that were purchased from them.
Unlocking is only for GSM phones, (Rogers and Fido).

Default sigh.

Bell has only **** phones. I have to stay with Bell out of courtesy to my best friend who owns 10+ Bell World stores.

Oh well, another Treo 600 it is.

Treo is probably the best thing they have.. but I dunno man, CDMA isn't that great.. I'd switch to Fido or Rogers if I were you (since basically starting march 1st they will be one network) you will get great service

doh! thanks anyway. in the US, CDMA still rules but I would go with GSM prov. the coverage improves.
