How can I learn to weld?

the Lincoln SP170. Same physical size as an SP135, but better value and capabilities.I have the SP170 and it is great. At work I ave two Millers, but prefer the Lincolns. Also, use a mixed gas for mild steel welding, argon/co2 mix. I believe stainless requires straight argon.
I can't agree more with the practice comments. As a mechanic by trade, I have welded a lot, and it only gets better with time. I have to ask though, why do you want to mig weld stainless? I always tig stainless as do most welders.

I went to the lincoln electric website, from what I can tell, this looks like the successor to the sp 135....
