Is this a joke - or is this Audi Canada's Pricing?

It seems that the only A3 worth buying is the base 2.0T FWD @ 31,7k$
The value for money of this car can be compared to a VW GTI. It has everything needed but no frills, no electronic gadgets and no bling. It looks better than the GTI, inside and out, IMO.
A base model will have to be special-ordered.
Once you start adding options, the price becomes unreasonnable for an entry-level model.
One of my friends bought an A3 two years ago, and took a fully-optioned model (save for nav) that was available because he was in a hurry. With taxes, he ended up just shy of 50k$. He was stumped when I told him he could have gotten a very nice A4 2.0T for the same amount.

Yes, you can and that's why average consumers would go for BMW and Mercedes
as to them, Quattro is the same as Xdrive which is no different from 4Matic.
Getting xDrive on a BMW sport sedan is like getting a non-quattro audi.

I have no idea what you are saying
A non-quattro audi is FWD which is a nose heavy understeering family car.
A 335 xi is a sports sedan with a RWD base that gives an S4 a run for it's money.
How can you compare a 335xi to an A4 FWD?
That's a pretty stupid comparison.

I guess what I'm saying is this
name me an Audi other than the RS4 and I'll find you an AWD vehicle that competes with it.
And Quattro isn't necessarily the best, it's extremely heavy which costs you in terms of fuel economy and more importantly performance.
I haven't the slightest idea what you are saying :-)
