Hi all.
Some of you may have seen my (several) posts about my AC woes with my 2003 A4 3.0. Basically, the first two (!) AC compressors died on me within the first six weeks of ownership. I only had the car in my possession for the first two weeks!
Anyway, I called the Audi Client Relations number and explained the situation to the lady I spoke with. She agreed that my situation was unacceptable and asked what I would like Audi to do. I said I would be happy if Audi/VCI made a payment for me since I only had the car for 2 out of 6 weeks.
To make a long story short, I received a cheque for one full month's payment from VCI last week!
Hopefully my car problems are over, too!
Thanks for reading.
Rich

Thanks, dood!
I couldn't make the driving school thingy because I'm still paying off the vacation stuff from August.
And, we're flying to Victoria for Christmas so I have to save my sheckels!
BTW: My first experience with Glenmore went well, although they didn't find any more problems with my AC. To be honest, I don't really notice a problem anymore either. Here's to hoping!
Take care.

VCI did the same with me when mine was basically out of commission for a while when it went in for a new engine. 1 month picked up by VCI, Passat loaner while I waited for a new engine, then got the use of the A4 back with the new engine for almost two weeks I think, then an A6 2.7T loaner for a few days while they swapped out the sports seat into the new A4.
I think the dealer took the hit on at least replacing the A4 and transportation costs for the new one. But I would have to say that this was pretty extreme scenario.

Basically this what happened:
On day 2, odd grinding noise, no actually, a horrible clicking noise that gets the attention of every pedestrian downtown Toronto. Light depressing the clutch pedal felt like something was grinding away. Thought it was a clutch bearing and the noise comes and goes. Dealer couldn't find anything wrong and I was going back to them several times that there is something wrong (wtf, I'm hearing things now?)
So, I took the car for a drive with somebody during work and the noise came back. RUshed back to the office, took my laptop and recorded the sound and put it on tape. TOld the dealer to listen to that and that finally convinced them and there was a missing crankshaft bearing and metal pieces in the oil.
Basically they said that the engine wasn't setup properly that caused the bearing to disintegrate and the dealer seen the same thing on a VW but with a lot more mileage that I did.
So they replaced the engine, gave it back to me and then gave me a new car. Worst of it all, that A4 was the fastest stock A4 I ever drove, and even the dealer mentioned the same thing (grrrr).
