Default Second Giro....but ultimately comes down to shape/fit

How much do you want to spend?

Bell is another great option, they are connected to Giro and make very similar helmets and for much cheaper.

Default I've seen some expensive helmets. I dont really want/need anything over $150.

I've looked at some of the Giro's and they can get pretty pricey, like $200+. They look really cool and are very light, but are the looks the biggest difference between the Giro's than say a Bell helmet for 50 bucks?

Default As long as it fits correctly and meets all requirements it should be fine

BUt if you find something that's cheaper but doesn't fit as well as one that's a lot more expensive, I'd suggest finding one that fits well even if it costs a bit more.

Default Yeah you can easily pay 250+ for a good helmet

Basically the more expensive you get the lighter and more breathable the helmet is. Also they have features like roc-lock which helps hold the helmet tight on your head.

Depending on how much you use it, it can be worth the extra money. I know I won't be able to go back, just too nice having all the vents and such little weight on your head.

Default It IS ONLY your brain you are protecting now...

Dont skimp on a brain bucket man, my Giro's past have saved considerable injury the times I have crashed hard...Having said that You shoudl be able to find a good one for a buck and a half.

Default Cool, thanks for the tips guys. I'm looking at two right now...

I'm thinking either the Giro Pneumo or Animas. Anybody have experience with either of these?
