Default I've had some decent espresso out of Saeco super autos. Go to the Saeco store near Steeles W and

Weston Rd.

Freshly roasted beans (within 2 wks of roast) go a long way in helping get good, rich crema and flavour too. Don't neglect that.

Default pods work out to about 55 cents each

which is expensive ....
but it's not like the coffee beans you'd grind normally is free ... the savings versus great beans and the pods ends up being about 15 cents per servings .... and the nespresso pods are always fresh and you have a hot espresso in 10 seconds (although the other methods are not long time wise)

Default For the "cars must have three pedal" crowd, I'm surprised at the aversion to manual machines.

Even the best super automatic with the freshest beans is only capable of decent espresso.

For excellent espresso, you'll want to start with a Rancilio Silvia, at very least, and begin practicing!

I prefer the manual machines! It's all about the ritual!

You'd be surprised how good the current models are...it's more about the bean than the machine IMO

Default It's worth it - seriously!!

It wasn't that big an expense for our office, as it's shared. We've had it two weeks, and I just looked at the cup counter, and it's brewed 100 cups in two weeks. It gets good use, and easily saves money compared to buying a cup at Starbucks. It also will end up saving us in staff time; it's surprising how much time our staff spent making coffee, cleaning the machine, etc. This machine is self cleaning, and only needs a major cleaning every 30,000 cups (!). Besides, our staff just love it, and feel like we just gave them a big treat.

I guess it's a little harder to justify for home, but it's so good it is very tempting!

Thx 4 the extra info. What do you get over the E85 that makes the price so much more?
