all you hear is the clicking noise (like a machine gun). Could my alternator be shot because of the shampoo job or do I just need to let the car sit longer?

1. After I heard the clicking noise, I checked the battery terminals. I noticed that the ground termnal where it connects to the engine was loose. I tightened all the terminals and tried restarting.
2. The car still clicked
3. I attached jumper cables to another car (didn't start this car)
4. Started Audi and it started right up (without starting the other vehicle)
5. Drove the car around came home, turned off, turned on, started like normal
I was just told that after the guy detailed my car last night he left my lights on for a few hours. I would assume that my 30KM drive this morning would have charged my battery back up but maybe because of the loose ground it wasn't charging correctly.
Does this sound right? After driving it around and tightening up the terminals do you think I solved the problem?
