where does your wife drive more? Snowy conditions, or around town in icy conditions?
Now that I'm up in Northern Ontario, I'm looking at more of a snow tire this winter... possibly with studs if I can find a set used. Because it's colder up here, deep/packed snow is more common than ice buildup.
I'm gonna say the Pirelli's for Southern Ontario, if her primary driving is done in town or taking the highway (slick on/off ramps, hard-packed highways that become tracks of ice).

Heck... given the choice, I'd go with the hakka's too, even if I lived in the city.
I've never ridden on a Pirelli winter tire... wonder just how good they are.

Never got stuck once. Stopped behind a lady trying to get up a hill in her Corolla. She just kept getting up and then slipping back down the hill. I just pulled around her and continued on my way. I was stopped on the hill too and I had no problems getting started again.
Oh yea, had them for about 4 years.
