OT: LOL at Acura salesperson
So I accompanied a friend who wanted a used TL (tried to convert him to Audi but was unsuccessful) to an Acura dealership.
Sales procedure was uneventful, but I needed a ride back to my car while they were wrapping up the paperwork, and the sales person was nice enough to drive me back in his RDX.
Never sat in one. I remarked that the RDX was more gutsy than I had anticipated, and that it must be the turbo.
He said this, in Cantonese: "oh, all Hondas and Acuras actually have turbos. VTEC is a kind of turbo."
I choked.
Der....
We arrived at my car, and he was a nice guy, so I suppressed my desire to correct him. Hahahaha.

I had something similar push me over the line and try my hand at selling cars (a gig that lasted 5 years). While waiting for yet another part for my POS Toyota truck, I listened in on a conversation on the dealer lot. A mother and daughter were looking at used cars. Mom walked up to a used Nissan Sentra SE-R - the first gen. She asked about the car, and the sales guy said, "Nooooooo, you don't want your daughter driving that! It's got over 200hp!" I spluttered to myself because those cars had 140hp - and since I had just checked it out myself, I knew it was stock.

I've lost track of the tall tales I've heard from salespeople over the yrs.
It's too bad, cuz now I just assume they are lying to me about everything.
I just had a slick-talking sales guy try to sell me a FWD SUV saying "we don't really need AWD in Canada"
Guess what '08 inventory he was trying to clear off his lot? lol

Yes you are so correct... One day they are selling cheap HI-FI and freezers at the Brick and...
The next day they are expert salespeople for a car company. LOL.
Of course this doesn't apply to some folks on here because I'm sure they know their products.:-)
