Default Paging April, if you're still in Canada - thank you.

You were right. A car on paper is not the same as a car when you drive it.

Don't know if you've been following my slippery slope evolution but I decided on the 07 G35x on paper. 5.2 secs 0 to 60, AWD, firm ride, large enough for me, all the tech gadgets etc. etc.

But then I drove it - engine was rough, interior didn't feel luxury etc. etc.

Next came the GS350AWD - also perfect on paper, everything an A6 4.2 is (on paper) but reliable. Well, it was too soft for my liking. A fine car if I NEEDED a car but remember, I'm trying to deal with a mid life crisis.

Finally tried the 07 A6 4.2 - wow, what a difference from the 06, it should be given a new designation, it's that much better.

Now the twist - I can't import an A6 4.2 from the US so it will cost me $82k Cdn. I CAN import an S6 and it will cost me about $94 Cdn. Too easy!

But I've basically doubled my budget and it's your fault! j/k

God damn that's a big investment. 3 years, $30k worth of depreciation?

Default Now there you go being logical and all :-)

I've been logical my entire life...*** it...

I've been driving an Acura TL Type S for the last 5 years, it's served me well.

I plan to keep the S6 for at least 6 or 7 years.

Default I'll touche you to that...

Buuuuut, if you're going to be going crazy on a car...

Build up something into some sort of sick, high horsepower beast. A Bi-turbo S4, or even an older C4 S4... fully built motor, huge turbo, 500whp, etc and you'd still be under $30-35k...

Giggity? More joys, less money...

Default Except that I like comfort and gadgets as well.

I thought about a two car solution - like keeping my Acura for a daily driver and getting a Cayman or something but then I'd be spending 80 pct of my time in an old car and 100 pct of my time in a car with no luxury!

I almost bought the Lexus GS350AWD but the A6 is just so much better, and now the S6 is within reach....I know, every 10k counts ...I'm still thinking about it.

Default You are smart to have driven all the brands/models instead of

using a spec sheet to make your choice. Glad to hear you're destined for the Audi fold:-)

$82K for a V8 vs $94K for the S6 makes it a no-brainer!

Yes, hubby says I am expensive;-)
