Just really quick........ finally have all these parts installed on a 2001.5 A4 Quattro 1.8T manual. The driving experience went from a fairly sloppy and loose drivetrain to tight and re-assuring. Below are my thoughts in the sequence of events that I changed the parts in.
The shifter throws are now shorter but not extremely short but a nice distance/feel with the UUC kit. It would be nice to have them just a little shorter but I think this is coming from the experience I have with the extreme short throws I have on my E30 M3 BMW. But I am happy with this SSK. I've used UUC SSK's before and I think that their parts are top notch and well worth the money. I was luck to have bought a lightly used UUC SSK for a very good deal. So money wise I did not spend a lot here. End result, great shifter feel, not out a lot of dough = happy camper.
APR snub mount removed quite a bit of movement. It also brings in a little more noise to the cabin. Overall, happy with the change. Paid full pop ........ full retail. Oh well. Still happy with the overall change and the APR snub mount is easily under $100 CAN including shipping from Georgetown, Ontario. (Plug for the guys at H2sports, although it took them a while to sort out shipping to me !!!! )
AWE DTS.......... oh my, my transmission is now rock solid. No more funny business. This and the APR snub were done fair close together, so I think the experience is a combination of the two. The jerki-ness is GONE. And that off-the-throttle clunk is gone. I'm luving this. Bought this piece used from a California owner and it was in almost new condition......... pretty much mint. And I got it for a very very good price. Seriously happy about this mod. It does add some noise into the cabin as well, but it's very very minor from what I can hear so far.
Bottom line, I recommend all these parts. I strongly recommend the APR snub mont and the AWE DTS as those made some substantial changes. The UUC kit is very nice, but would like a little less throw for my tastes. I may look into changing this mod eventually .......... but for now, its stays as I am pleased with the change.
(edit) The UUC SSK I installed myself. The APR and the AWE were installed by my mechanic (Tecbo Motors in Markham)
