Are radar detector detectors still used in GTA?
Was planning on bringing my V1 with me, but heard that police in Ontario have RDDs. Read a post where the cop confiscated someone's V1 and fined him $170 
I'm thinking I should just leave it in the US.

Yes, if you are alone, you are done
because the radar will not be active if they are using the detector. If you drive by when they are using the radar, you're OK. And yes, they confiscate AND ticket you. Don't ask how I know.

I use a V1.....but I keep a spare $10 mal-functioning Passport in the glove box....
I bought it on E-bay I think.. Anyhow, if I ever get pulled over and the cop asks me for my V1... I'll just reach over and give him the crappy passport unit. I have yet to be pulled over with the V1 by the way.
I suggest everone keep a crappy spare detector in the car if you choose to go that route.
I don't mind paying a ticket and save myself from replacing a $600 V1.

where'd you get your crappy detector...ebay also?
more and more word of the spectre radar detector detector is scaring me a bit..... but I still use it in ontario when I go to toronto.
