Removal of the OEM seat and the installation of the Sparco race seat.
First step is to remove the trims around the base of the seat rails. In this picture we are facing the back side of the seat and will have to remove the two small screws, multi point(T-19)inside the trims (centre) and have to pull the plastic plugs, two of them, one on each side facing inwards at the top of the trim.

Close up showing the little screw and the plastic cap/plug. Also note the big 12 point bolt. There are four (4) of these to be removed (later). They hold the seat in place in the car and are bolted to the floor. You will need a 10mm Serrated Bit with 12 points.

Sorry the next picture is out of focus. Two of four bolts that hold the seat in place with the 10mm Serrated Bit.

After all the trims are removed, the seat belt disconnected and the four bolts removed, tilt the seat backwards SLOWLY to rest its headrest on the back seat. The reason is there is a wire harness attached to it and to the car's floor. In this picture a plastic cap that cover the wiring is already opened at 90 degrees. You can see four separate wires going into the floor. The yellow round plug is for the air bag.

Now that it is safe to remove the seat, do so. Be careful it is heavy, maybe around 70 lbs depending on options.

Re-install plastic cap to protect the now disconnected floor plugs.

Now it is time to remove the seat belt from the inboard side of the seat. You will need to unscrew it from the seat, disconnect the harness and unclip it from the metal frame (shiny gold colored clip).

Sorry again another out of focus picture. Home made 90 degree brackets to secure the two safety belts to the car floor. They will be attached to the floor using the same 10mm bolts that held the OEM seat in place. The 10mm bolt will go through the brackets and through the aluminum base to secure the whole installation as in the original seat.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/46874/SPARCOINST21.jpg">
Finally you can see the Sparco seat installed in the car, at least the back side on it. Notice on the far right the 90 degree bracket secured to the aluminum base and car floor by the 10mm bolt. The seat belt harness is secured to the belt by a tyrap. On the left side you can actually see the safety belt secured by its original attachment to the 90 degree bracket. You can also see it going through the seat's side opening.

Tomorrow the TopSpin safety harnesses are going to be installed.
