Here's something I've been pondering. A Cayenne is 87% VW designed and built. The plant
that does the final assembly is the first time Porsche touches the car.
Given the complaints people have made about Touaregs in the past, and given how much is shared, what is the variable? It would seem to me to be the buyer. So it's clearly something about the demographic who buys each, and their expectations of the vehicle.

Thanks for the number...
Called Jack, and he basically told me after all the recall problems it's actually pretty reliable. I still have my doubts, but it's definitely a +1 to hear it.

ML class was assembled in Mexico if I'm correct except for the AMG version.
Well, all previous generation MLs are very unreliable EXCEPT for the AMG. I think final assembly makes a big difference but again who knows if it applies to the cayenne.
