Default Bingo

There was a show on Discovery or something, devoted to the 911's history. Great show, can't remember the name of it.

Long story short, select group of drivers had 911s and knew what it was capable of and put it to use on the track. So you didn't see that many 911s around in the city. Next thing you know, folks within the financial area starts making money, so the Wall Street type of person. They're look at a new set of wheels to reward themselves, and they pick the 911, partly because of the marketing that was done... viewed as the sports car.

Obviously this ticked off the other group of Porsche drivers and there's probably two unique groups that exist still with 911 drivers.

Like any other manufacturer, they ultimately want to sell more cars in any way possible.

Journalists or enthusiasts can say what they want, it'll get noted probably by Audi, but I seriously doubt that it'll have a significant impact on how Audi (or really any company) markets their vehicles.

All I know, the racing that Audi was involved in with rally racing and the SCCA racing in the mid 80s had an effect on me, that advertising worked!

Default Heh, I know a gal that saved up for a year to get an A4 after a 5 minute ride in my car.

After a year, she got a new job & a new company car of her choice. The car? An A4, of course.

Default I must be tired, I read: "I have been in a significant number of middle-aged female in my A4s."

Appologies to April for the graphic nature of that comment up front...

Default Better than the 3 - 5 seconds of Ryan in T.O.

5 minutes to get to my place. I didn't say how long she stayed.

Unfortunately she went from Catwoman-Halloween-Costume hawt to fat not too long afterwards.

Sorry Ryan, couldn't resist.

"That former bastion of middle-class understatement" -- heh .. very well put. Too bad it's "former".
