Pricing seems to be in the $130 - $150 USD range for aftermarket valves like the Forge. I don't know who in Canada might sell them, but you can check the web sites of various U.S. tuners, e.g. Stratmosphere.

There is no reason to replace the standard Bosch valve with another identical one unless yours has actually failed... or you get annoyed with that 2800 RPM honk like I do. However, some folks have pointed out recently that Bosch makes an uprated version of the valve, a model 110 vs. the 710 that's stock in our TT's.

You should be able to do the install yourself if you're a bit handy. Again, check the tuner websites. Some of them post installation instructions and you can judge whether you want to tackle it yourself.

There is a huge amount of archived discussion about replacement BPV's on the AW TT forum, which can provide background on the experiences of others with various products. Personally, I've been looking into this off & on for a couple of years. Okay, I'm slow. :~) But it looks like I've decided the way to go is Forge. I am planning to order one from Stratmosphere and hopefully be rid of the honk...

Being said that you don't drive very much, what makes you think it will fail anyways ?,Besides a good High Quality BPV(Forge)will only set you back roughly $150 IIRC
