Default The S4/RS4 clutch has a self adjusting clutch mechanisim...however, if it is not set properly

durring install it will lead to early clutch failure.

Default You can spell AND understand my message, wunderbar

If you will guarantee that Jerry D will not abuse his clutch then I will gurantee that no repairs will be necessary due to following my advice. Now you will have to live in his car 24/7 to give me that guarantee but I assume you are dumb enough to agree to that.

Default City km count? Why not use full throttle, especially in the lower gears

The clutch resists maximum torque only in the highest gear at peak torque. The gearbox multiplies the torque and that, as you will realize, is downstream from the clutch.

This is why worn clutch first shows itself in top gear while going up hills.

If a brand new clutch slips under full throttle in top gear it is quite simply defective. No special bedding in treatment is required.

Finally, it is advisable to slip a new clutch more than usual if you wish to speed up the process of making the clutch take up butter smooth. When you do this you should not slip the clutch excessively, but this is normal driving advice, not special treatment. If you choose not to do this then the clutch will take a little longer to feel completely normal, but not much longer.

Default I took it to Independent, they agree with me, it doesn't feel normal..

So I took it back to my Dealer who did the install, they tried it, agreed that they CAN feel the shorter throw and stiff bottom end of the clutch and proceeded to give me a technical reason for what could be the cause.

At the end I was told to live with it.

Suffice it to say, I do not like how this clutch feels now. Not in the slightest.
