Default $1500 for serpentine belt replacement

Does this sound right? Def. not going to dealer for this one, but does it sound right? On the other hand, just to go to the other extreme I called Meineke and they quoted me $45 parts plue $55 labor.
Also, what type of mileage/age is typical with serp belt replacement?
My A6 is an 01.5, with 45k miles.

Default Serpentine, not Timing

I know the timing belt is around $1600, but this is the serpentine

Default I am guessing someone quoted you for a timing belt.

I know for fact we don't charge that much for a serpentine belt.

Default $1000 would have sounded better.

You can call Robyn for a price if you want. I don't do anything with pricing at all but I am sure you were misquoted for a serp belt, that's all.
