<center><img src="http://www.hostdub.com/albums/tivs31/cruise_logo_2.jpg"></center><p>Hey guys,
well going off the success of my last cruise which occured last fall, Myself and the Chicago VW organization is organizing a spring cruise up to Galena.
Here is what was written in my Vortex Post:
Well going off the success that the last fall cruise was, I think a spring kick-off cruise is more than proper. So here goes.........
Date: May 23rd 2004
Take off spot:: Schaumberg Hooters
Final Destination: Galena IL
Time of Departure: 8:30 AM (I know it's early, but it's all good)
So those are the plans, We are planning on cruising out on route 20 the whole way, there are a bunch of nice scenic spots, and a lot of really nice twisties as you get out into the country. I am talking with the city's tourist board to check out spots for the park/home base, at the end of the cruise.
This event will be better organized than the last event and is now "Corporate" meaning that I have picked up the Chicago Volkswagen Organization as a corporate sponsor. Woo Woo
If you guys so wish there are a ton of really nice little B&B in the area, so chilling a night in Galena, and then cruising back on Monday is a pretty good option.
More details to come later, but I wanna know what you guys think, and approximately how many people might be up for it. I am hoping that everyone from the last event will come out to this one
############## UPDATE ###############
Well I just talked to the Galena Tourism Board, and it seems like there are a lot of options for our cruise.
1st off........
we can reserve the entire Recreation Park, which has been newly refurbished, and had over $700,000 added to in in the last 3 years . The park is located about 1/2 a mile outside down town galena, and has a number of pavilions with new BBQ pits and all ready to go. The lot also has parking for over 100 cars, and will be reserved for us VW/Audi people only (woo woo)
So post up if you are interested, it's a great time, and a great way to hang out with fellow enthusiasts.

I do a 120 mile cycling ride that goes through there each year. Were there a decent turn out for Audi's last season or was this primarilly a VW event?

yeah there were a few older model audi's and a few newer ones as well, it was primarily a VW thing cause I am a vw driver.
I know stickerboy (matt) came out last year and had a good time, so hopefully he'll come out in his new car
