1. Parallel parking will be a lot tougher.
2. There's no frame of reference (i.e. the side of your car) so you'll never know exactly what you're seeing.
Maybe worth a shot, though.

adjust your mirrors so you just see the side of the car when you lean a bit to your right or a bit to your left. That way you're good for parallel parking or backing into the garage as you can easily move your body into that position under those circumstances.
As far as a frame of reference under normal motoring, the purpose of orienting the mirrors like this is to detect if another vehicle is in your "blind spot" or rather - "within your envelope for potential contact" and to do this with just a quick eye to the mirrors (as opposed to doing the "shoulder check" which really takes your eyes off the road for longer than I was ever comfortable with).
Most of us were likely taught to have the mirrors catch the side of the car (which guarantees a blind spot) and do a shoulder check for lane-changing. IMHO, most of us were taught incorrectly as proper adjustment of the mirrors as above is SO MUCH safer.
For the best of both worlds, the Euro "blind spot mirrors" are very nice, but truly not needed once you reprogram yourself on how to adjust mirrors. I admit it - I was not an instant convert.

Control arm didn't work. Will bring all 4 when I pull them out and when it warms up. Have my brake bleeder washed with water and dry =)

traffic. I really adapted to this with my TT as you can't see anything by looking back over your shoulder so there was always doubt. Euro mirrors plus this adjustment made TT driving much more secure. For parking i just lean over a little bit to see the edge or rear tire in the right mirror. My only error is that its not programmed into my memory button so valet's screw it up or i do after someone adjusts the seat and i use the button to get it back. And after 3 years I'm still too dumb to remember to save the adjustment. For highway driving this really does make a huge difference and reduces hesitation or that doubt of 'is there an entire Tahoe hiding next to me'.
