a sensor for steering angle? I went to two alignment shops(Midas, Bridgestone) and both of them told me that only a dealer can align the car because of a steering angle sensor. The guy at midas printed out the warning that his alignment machine was giving him. Here it is...
" CAUTION! The sensor for steering angle (g85) must be reset if the front alignment was adjusted during the measurement or if the steering wheel was repositioned on the steering column.
Perform basic setting of steering sensor G85 with teh VAS 5051."
I have a 2000 S4. Will this be an issue. I really don't want to pay the dealrship $149.99 dollars when i could get it done for less. Thoughts?

If the alignment has to be adjusted alot, then yes you may need to reset the steering angle sensor. If it's just a little bit then no. Won't know untill it's on there. Also see my other post regarding raised toe adjustment.
