You missed nothing. They were, shall we say the worst of the worst.
But they were an institution having been there through the 50's, 60's 70's and into the early 80's.

speaking of "gentlemens clubs", there is on on halstead, just south of lake
im not sure, but i think it might be an "alternative lifestyle" club, with "equipted" "ladies" on stage, or vice-versa, but dont know for sure, as I have never actually gone in there.
