Default anyone have an inexpensive mountain/road bike for sale?

while i've been regularly doing 5,8, and 10k's the last few months, next year i want to step it up to half marathons and sprint triathalons. problm is i don't have a bike. looking for a good condition road bike or mountain bike to practice on. i'd probably rather keep the price around $500 if not less. not sure what i could get for that, but figured it's worth a shot.

thanks!

Default if the resident bike retailer doesn't chime in, maybe craigslist...

there's always something for sale

make sure you know your size first, though.

Default If your serious about racing tri's....

You'll need to get fitted for a bike. You don't want sore knees, lower back pain, foot numbness, etc.

Default Do you want to be experienced? This is how to size...

Size matters. You'll probably want a 56-59. I'll give you a women's skinny tire bike with 10 speeds that's NOS - works great.

I've got a '97 Klein Quantum Pro for sale, too big for you 63cm. I'd sell my Cannondale carbon '07 Six/13 as well.

No, I'm not a dealer-just a bike nut.<ul><li><a href="http://www.coloradocyclist.com/bikefit/">clicky</a></li></ul>

Default definitely not.

while i had a bike 6 years ago, it's been long gone. whenever i ride now (rarely other than at the gym) i borrow a friend's bike.

i suppose i could/should hold off until the spring to buy a bike when i can really start training outdoors for that portion of it. i'd be able to spend more money then as well.

Default If you end up holding off let me know...

I can always give a little AW hook up. $1300 will get you a pretty good bike these days for someone thats getting into it, but don't cheap out of shoes and pedals. We have a few 56 cm Canondale CAAD8 bikes left too. Or some Roadwarriors if you want a flat bar roadbike thats a little cheaper.

If you go that route check us out, the best in the midwest.....<ul><li><a href="http://www.getagripcycles.com">http://www.getagripcycles.com</a</li></ul>

Everyone on a road bike needs to get fitted, regardless of how serious you take it.
