best place for high-speed wheel balance in Chicago area?

Recommend trying a shop that road force balances and....
is smart enough to put the centering cone (the cone shaped piece that they insert in the center of your wheel to adapt to the balancer) in from the BACK side of the wheel. Vast majority of tire shops take the easy way out and put the cone in from the front of the wheel. Your wheel in hubcentric from the back, not the front. The front is to hold the center cap.
Road Force puts a load on the tire as it spins, simulating the weight of your car on the tire. Provides a more accurate representation of what your wheel/tire is doing.
I've had great luck with the Discount Tire at the intersection of North Ave and Bloomingdale Rd in Glendale Heights. But I've developed a relationship there over the years.
You cold also consult the Tire Rack site for their local installers.

You can learn a little more about the GSP9700 road force balancer and find one near you. Although there is some debate over the value of road force balancing, Tire Rack uses them and generally the shops that have them are the better tire shops as these balancers are quite expensive.
