Fischer Auto on NW Highway in Barrington...
that's my best recommendation since you said "NW Burbs"... but if your buddy if willing travel a bit, I'm a bit more familiar with Chicago Perf. and Tuning in Melrose Park.
I only know Fischer Auto because of some minor work and some tire mounting. But from what I could tell, Peter (I think that's the son's name) definitely made me at ease with his service.
