Default Does anyone know of a good wheel repair place?

As if my weekend wasn't lousy enough, I now have 4 BADLY curbed / chunked Volk wheels (one was my fault, 3 + damaged bumper = Valet company's fault - and they refuse to acknowledge that they damaged anything).

I tried Wheels America in Arlington heights, but they said they won't touch bronze Volks (apparently the lip is diamond cut and the bronze finish is actually anodized, not painted). They told me my best bet is to just buy new wheels . . . and at $900 each, that's not an option.

Suggestions?

Default True . . . but if you read my post, I've already contacted them.

And they won't touch them.

Default Yeah . . .

tho I've heard horror stories of painted or powdercoated forged wheels cracking. Since no wheel place wants to repair them, I guess I'll have to give them the Krylon touch. Ugh.

That being said . . . I'm posting all over all the JDM car boards. There MUST be a place (prob. in Cali) that can repair Volks.

Default The paint cracks or the wheel? I cannot see the logic if it's the latter.

Hope that's not the case - that would SUCK.

Default Yeah . . . the wheel.

I need to dig up the huge thread covering that (posted on another forum). I'm also having a hard time following the logic on that.

Hopefully my scouring other JDM forums will turn up SOME place in the US that can repair these things.

Default Jeff---

Once the wheels are repaired, I can put you in touch with a few places that do anodizing. Most of them are commercial shops, but they may be willing to take on a small job like this.

Default Oh yeah?

That'd be sweet. Thanks!

First let me see if the local repair places will fix 'em without doing any painting. I also have a few feeler posts out there on several JDM car forums . . . I'm still hoping that there's some place (prob. in Cali) that can repair them.

I also hear the bronze color that Volk uses is darn near impossible to match.
