Default Fatal accident on Ashland/Wellington

2 Killed In Alleged High-Speed Crash

CHICAGO -- Two people were killed and two others were in serious-to-critical condition early Saturday after a vehicle crashed into the side of a taxicab at a high speed on the North Side, police said.

The accident allegedly occurred when an Audi traveling south on Ashland Avenue at a high rate of speed ran a stoplight at the Wellington Avenue intersection at 5:47 a.m., according to a Belmont District lieutenant who declined to give his name.

The Audi then "T-boned" a taxicab traveling east on Wellington Avenue, he said.

The fatalities were reported to be the driver and passenger of the taxi, the lieutenant added.

No further information was immediately available.<ul><li><a href="http://www.nbc5.com/news/4039544/detail.html?z=dp&amp;dpswid=2265994&amp;dppid=6519 5">http://www.nbc5.com/news/4039544/detail.html?z=dp&amp;dpswid=2265994&amp;dppid=6519 5</a></li></ul>

Default It was a red audi which looked stock (maybe tinted windows)

I think that it was an older A4, maybe 99, 98 or 97 with the big 5-spoke wheels. I didn't see any Ac4 windscreen thingie not stickers.

Sure hope it wasn't anyone here.

Default Update: Driver was drunk (duh) and on a suspended license. Charges will likely be increased to

vehicular homicide. (According to the news a while ago.)

Default This is sad, people need to learn not to drive like idiots on the street,,,

It's a hell of a way to learn a lesson. My red A4 still has the tranny out.
