Default Friend of mine recently invited to Porsche Panamera research effort. His take...

... skip. He said the exterior's pretty but the interior is VERY plastic-y and seemed generally cheap. Amazing.

<img src="http://www.chrisabraham.com/porsche-panamera-thumb.jpg">

He also said they had a new A8 (next-gen, he thought), a new BMW 6-series sedan and some Mercedes for "comparison," but essentially to disguise that the Porsche was the rel purpose of the research.

I know, TPIWW(real)P, but they took custody of all cell phones and cameras AND ran the respondents through metak detectors before they got to see the cars.

Default the interior is VERY plastic-y and seemed generally cheap." - I think that's the case with all

Porsches. Of course, you generally don't care much about interior when buying a sports car, but.....4-door something, you'd probably want something better.

Another 911 variant. How imaginative.

Ditto. Thats how i feel about the Cayenne as it pails in the interior to the Toureg or Q7.

I don't think I've sat or ridden in a 997 so I can't comment there.

Default I know, its mainly the dash face, controls, and trim that is just too monocromatic to me.

personal taste. I felt the same about the 911 and boxster till this latest go around of both models where the design is more interesting to look at. Same with BMW at the moment. I'm too used to Audi's with layers of material and textures as well as good design.

Default It's not based on the 911. Most Porsche customers want the look/link to the 911, Porsche's

heritage.

To each his own.
