Actually if you knew anything about IDOT and it's corruption, you'd be wishing you never had to pay for a toll again. The tolls were created long ago as a "Temporary" solution to "fund" the roads. They were never meant to be there for good. Our wonderful Illinois beaurocrats have been skimming off the profits for years.
Your next question may be: "Then how do you pay to fix the roads?" Well, that's simple. If the road was built CORRECTLY in the 1st place, you wouldn't have nearly the amount of construction going on. They purposely build the roads to deteriorate after a certain amount of time, just like certain parts of a car. This is to keep the beaurocrats fat and happy and union workers employed. Take a look at the Autobahn. It was built like 10 ft thick decades ago so they wouldn't have to worry about fixing it all the time.
Sucks, but it's reality. Ok, going to try my new "scampass" on the tollway. Hopefully I won't hit any potholes...but wait....there shouldn't be any, should there?!? ;-)

I feel bad for tourists and out-of-towners that are forced to pay double the toll that a local IPASS user pays starting January 1. The construction never seems to stop and many of the roads are constantly in bad condition.
