I do not post much around here. Purchased my 2001.5 S4 about a year ago and about 3 weeks ago Flashloaded w/Giac X....otherwise completely stock. Went to the Byron (1st time ever at a track) and did a couple of runs but am dissapointed. Following are my times let me know what you guys think. Why would my best time have one of the slowest MPH....I need to shift a lot better. I missed 3rd gear on my best time and missed 2nd gear on my last run!...Should I be capable of hittin 13.5 - 13.7 w/ better driving?

Dragging with an AWD car, or manual trans, is not easy. It's also hard to be consistant. While most people will claim that quarter mile is easy, just stab the gas and go, this is obviously not the case. Just like anything else, it takes practice. I'll just say you're not the only one.

14.017 ET is mine.
This was with an APR chip on 93 and Volk Racing wheels @ 18lbs as opposed to the 28lbs (I think) stock wheels.
And I suck at driving stick.
I have not tried the 100 octane program yet.
I have also made a few more upgrades since then.
I am gonna try to hit the strip in the next couple of months one of these days.
Road courses are just more fun though.
Hard for me to go to a strip now.

Seeing as how a heavy AWD car is not really meant for drag racing in the first place. All things considered, you didn't do too badly for a first time, but you should really bring her out to a road course if you want to have fun with the car in the sprit in which it was designed.

It requires your driving skills, real small weight, and excellent suspension set up. As far as drag racing, anyone with lot's of HP can do it...it doesn't take that much knowledge on driver's side - car mechanic - yes. Btw, even if you get any pleasure out of it it only lasts like what, 13 seconds? I still say, 'no thank you'.
