Default Looks like the R8 halo effect has worked, kinda....

Talked to some friends back home and among other things Audi they tell me that R8's are now selling for 130-150k+ EUR, about 30-50% mark up over regular invoices. This is all done by private brockers/dealers and not Audi itself. There is close to 2 years wait list for a new R8 through Audi appearantly.....Interesting, I thought, first Audi to not only not depreciate fast but actually appreciate. Wonder how long this may last?

RS6s went for over MSRP, too. But in the end, depreciation rate caught up pretty commandingly.

Agreed, I don't see ANY Audi reversing this pattern (stateside).

Default I think it will be far better with the R8 due to very low #'s and it being such a highly rated car

Who knows. Just a guess.

Default In the states, Audi is doomed to being BMW's and MB's bitch...

Then again I don't buy cars as investments and really don't care about the resale side.

Default So, you are AUDI's bish, then.

FYI... Latest issue of "Elegance" magazine (not the ghey-style "Elegance" you subscribe to already, the other one) has a "market update" on all Porsche Turbos. For not caring about re-sale, it would appear you've done wll in that regard on dat black bish.

Default One builds up a tolerance to the Audi depreciation buggery, barely even feel it anymore...

As to the othAr one, who knows SeƱor Concours Queen, too bad I'll drive the snot out of it and probably end up in the same place.

On the other hand, CPO cars are a great value.

Default It's definitely the smart way to go, I've never purchased a used car before (save the black one)...

but for an Audi, CPO'ed is the right way to buy these car for sure; either that or drive them until the wheels fall off and you catch up with the curve.
