Maximum tint allowed
I just got an S4 2001 and it's begging to have some tints on the windows. What is the most I can do without getting pulled over all the time. I live in Northern Suburbs and work in Northwest burbs. (of Chicago)
Any good shops? what should I expect to pay for 4 sides and back?

No guarantee, but you *should* be OK with 35%.
Both Shaded Days and Tint Works in the Libertyville area do a great job. Not sure about price . . . I paid $175 to have my Z done, prob. a little more for your S4.

well yeah . . .
duh. in IL tint on the front windows is illegal. Trust me, I have 9 tint tickets from the last year to prove it. The tint on my car is a little too dark for a white car though. When I had 35% tint on my black A4, I was only issued one tint ticket in 4 years.
Again, there's no guarantee (unless one chooses not to tint the front windows at all). Obviously, the lighter the tint, the less likely he'll be issued any tickets.
